Black Hearts was started late 2019, while working in a jewellery retailer I was utterly miserable with my job and also noticed that I couldn't even wear half of the jewellery due to my sensitive skin. I also noticed none of the jewellery really catered to my style, there was nothing I could find that was slightly more alternative or unique.
I then ended up taking a very lengthy break from employment to take care of my mental health when I decided to put my years of jewellery making skills and knowledge to good use and started making myself jewellery.
This quickly spread to friends asking if I could make them some, until I decided I would give it a shot selling some online.
I started off small, selling pieces including charms I had sourced from other small businesses or local stores in Norwich.
As business grew and I had more money to invest I decided to try my hand at making my own chains a few months in. This is where I found my real passion, chainmaille and chunkier pieces of jewellery that really made a statement.
